Client Feedback

Excellent. Everything worked well and in spite of a few misgivings at attempting coast walking so late in the year, we enjoyed the walk. I liked the little waterproof maps. We had our own OS maps, but carried the single sheets in preference - they were much lighter in weight!

Brough, W Midlands, Nov 2011 SWCP: Dartmouth to Shaldon

Everything was completed very efficiently and made for a very enjoyable few days along the coast path.

Peacock, Wiltshire, Oct 2011 SWCP: Dizzard to Porthcothan

Returned from my walk on the SWCP - all wonderful, didnt even get wet. The accommodation always good, sometimes exceptionally so, and luggage always arrived in good time.

Thompson, France, Sept 2011 SWCP: Newquay to Falmouth

We are back home. We had a wonderful holiday. Everything was perfectly organised.

Oomens, The Netherlands, July/Aug 2011 SWCP: Charlestown to Poole

So one more time - thanks for a very well arranged holiday - everything worked perfectly. And I was lucky with the weather.

Kromann Jensen, Denmark, June/Jul 2011 SWCP: Torquay to South Haven Point

We were as always very pleased with the organisation and service provided by Westcountry Walking Holidays. Directions and maps excellent, planning helpful, distances about right for two elderly gentlemen!

Rice, Tiverton, May 2011 SWCP Penzance to Falmouth

Once again I had a great time walking along the coast. The weather was again perfect for walking. Thank you for your perfect organisation. I'll be back next year.

Bruderer, Switzerland, April 2011 SWCP: Kingsand to Dartmouth

We thank you for putting together a wonderful trip for us! It was a much needed break for us and the scenery was beautiful. The accommodation was perfect too and we especially enjoyed staying at Harmony House in Swanage. Since we had a little time in Swanage we took the steam train to Corfe Castle for the afternoon, which was very nice too. Thanks again for another great trip and no doubt we will be booking another one with you in the future.

Davis, London, Oct 10 SWCP Weymouth to Swanage

Shame you couldn't have organised slightly better weather! But the service was very good, and I'm planning to use you again in the future.

Jordan, Sept 10 SWCP: Porlock to Woolacombe

Thanks again for organising our trip. Another very enjoyable holiday with (mostly) excellent weather.

Gould, Bournemouth. Sept/Oct 2010 SWCP: Padstow to Sennen Cove

Very good. Everything went to plan and all the pick ups and drop offs were timed to perfection. Accommodation great especially Mellstock House which had a bar and evening meals so we did not have to walk again after a day on the track.

Scully, Australia. July 2010, Shortbreak at Mellstock

Good care and attention to every detail, when trying to meet our requirements. Would definitely use again.

Mather, July 2010 SWCP: Weymouth to South Haven Point

Everything worked like clockwork. All the information, maps, location of B&B's etc was very helpful. We'd definitely recommend you to anyone. Thankyou for everything

Beckhelling, Worcestershire. June 2010 SWCP: Exmouth to Poole

A perfect and professional organisation. As always. Thank you.

Bruderer, Switzerland. May 2010 SWCP: Sennen to Falmouth

Westcountry walking holidays provided us with excellent accommodation and useful maps. This was especially useful to me as I was trying to arrange a walking holiday without my husband's knowledge.

O'Toole, Cardiff, May 2010, Shortbreak at Mellstock House

All accomodation was found to be very clean and en suites in particular spotless. Thanks to WWH for good choices. Furthermore everything including transport went like clockwork, which after 6 days of rather gruelling trek becomes ever more important. All seven members of the party enjoyed our week which happened also to be blessed with good weather. One of the hardest but best walks we have done! Thanks for an efficient and friendly service.

Symes, West Yorkshire. June 2010, the Coleridge Way

We thank you for great organization and selection of B&Bs You did a great job and we enjoyed this trip as with the last walking tour in 2007. Would recommend WWH to those interested in an enjoyable holiday. We look forward to our next trip.

Rice, Tiverton. May 2010,SWCP: Newquay to Penzance

Thanks for making the arrangements and I will be glad to recommend you to anyone I meet who may be going over to do the same thing I did.

Warren, USA, Oct 2009, St Ives to Penzance

We were very pleased with the whole holiday. Everything went very much according to plan and we didn't have to worry about anything. The maps and guide books were 1st class. Well done.

Wallek, Cardiff. Sept 2009, SWCP: Padstow to St Ives

Once more thank you for organising our second trip. Again everything went smoothly and we had no problems with accommodation or baggage transfers. We also had some of the best weather of the summer which is always a bonus.

Gould, Reading. Sept 2009 Westward Ho! To Padstow

Many, many, thanks to Westcountry Walking Holidays for helping both of us to complete the whole of the SWCP. Without you I think that the hassle of planning and booking B&Bs ourselves may well have killed the project off before we had got very far around the coast. It was really good to see that year by year little things were tweaked by you and your predecessor to slowly make everything better & better.

Bull & Parker, Bristol. Sept 2009 Weymouth to Poole

The service provided by Westcountry Walking was excellent! Everything happened according to schedule as planned, our luggage was always there, the B & B's were wonderful and in great locations and generally easy to find, the taxis for the pre-planned pick-ups were timely, the walking distances each day were just right, and the maps and information for each day were very good. We greatly appreciated the planning done for us. It was an awesome experience, very beautiful country, terrific people that we met, and a trip that we would like to do again-another section perhaps. We will definitely recommend Westcountry Walking to others.

Cari Keith & Mary Szepi, USA; Sept 2009 Boscastle - St Ives

We were very pleased with the whole holiday. Everything went very much according to plan and we didn't have to worry about anything. The maps and guide books were 1st class. Well done.

Partem, Israel. July 2009 SWCP: Boscastle to Padstow

We really enjoyed our Westcountry Walking Holiday. I have already recommended the company to several friends both in England and the U.S. West Country Walking Holidays was professional and reliable: our luggage always arrived as promised; the customized hiking guides were accurate; and a taxi was waiting for us at the train station at the beginning of our trip to take us to our starting point. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, pleasant and easy to get to from the coast path. We live on the coast in Northern California so we're used to beautiful coastal scenery but the Cornwall coast, as seen from the coast path, is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It was a fantastic trip and we want to come back and hike the rest of the path. I can't recommend this holiday highly enough.

Kappagoda, USA. June 09, SWCP: Pendeen to Penzance

Our second year was as good as the first with everything thought of. The quality of B and Bs was very good with friendly hosts and lovely food. My husband and I have a 10 year plan for the South West way and cant wait to go again next year!

Miller, Bournemouth. August 2009 SWCP: Woolacombe to Clovelly

Our holiday ran like clockwork! We enjoyed most of the walking (!) and the accommodation was extremely comfortable and well-located.

Wilkinson, Bath. August 2009, SWCP: Seatown to South Haven Point

West Country Walking Holidays met all our expectations. We were impressed with the comprehensive information and maps provided prior to our trip & how smoothly all the travel arrangements & luggage transfers ran. We would definitely consider holidaying with you again. A very enjoyable holiday. Thank you!

Kipling, Leeds. July 2009, SWCP: Perranporth to Penzance

Scott and I really, really enjoyed our walking holiday. We got off to a bit of a shaky start after reading we were suppose to look for a stile. "What is a stile?" I asked. " No idea. What's a kissing gate?" he said with a worried expression. Hmm... two Canadians alone with a map we really didn't understand suddenly didn't seem like such a good idea but it was marvellous. Thank you for taking care of all the arrangements, they ran like clockwork.

Fran & Scott McKenzie, Canada; SWCP Castle Combe - Bruton

Westcountry Walking Holidays was magnificent from the first contact to the end of the walk, determining stages, finding all the B&Bs and ensuring that all arrangements for walking, B&Bs and transport of luggage were successful - and at a reasonable price. I would strongly recommentd them to anyone wanting to do the walk.

Ken Lewis, Australia; SWCP Barnstaple - Lyme Regis

Everything - including the taxis - was perfect. I'm very content with this third walking holiday, and hope it shall be possible to continue next year.

Lissi Kromann Jensen, Denmark; SWCP Padstow - Penzance

Thank you for the perfect organisation. The B&Bs were well chosen, we liked them all.

Lucia & Hannelore Bruderer, Switzerland; SWCP Falmouth - Kingsand

...We would (and have) definitely recommend you to others.

Charlotte and Gordon Moore, USA; SWCP Minehead - Penzance

Wonderful holiday which ran like clockwork - hosts awaiting us, cases ahead of us, good facilities, breakfasts and packed lunches, plus meals arranged where pubs or restaurants not available. Even the weather must have been ordered with only one wet afternoon !

Rex and Lesley Darlow, UK; Two Moors Way

Thanks for organising yet another successful walking trip for us - lovely B&B's and a good route...

Michael and Ruth Jacobs, UK; SWCP Barnstaple - Boscastle

The walks, accomodation and meals arranged by Westcountry were excellent, and exceeding our expectations. I would gladly book with them again.

Jenny Woolsey, Hong Kong; Short break

Thank you very much for sorting us and our friends out. The holiday worked like clockwork and we only had one wet day so for 2008 we can't complain! The walk was superb and a great way to start retirement. Thank you for a superbly organised holiday. We would highly recommend you.

Judy & Nigel Kennedy, UK; SWCP Minehead - Padstow

All of our B & B hosts made us feel very welcome and the luggage transfer went smoothly. In all, a very well organised package. The walk itself was spectacular made even better by good weather!

Mike & Sue Channon, Australia; Tarka Trail

Thanks for making it all such plain sailing and not least for arranging such wonderful weather for us. A minor miracle! The luggage transfer worked like a dream and the specific directions to the accommodation at the end of each day was very useful. We're wondering what bit of the path to tackle next... Many thanks indeed.

Tracey Armes, UK; SWCP Exmouth - Poole

The concept of walking from one location to another was terrific. Accommodation was above expectations. Everything from packed lunches, taxis, maps, directions to B&B's, attention to detail by Andrea was great. Even though some villages had limited pubs, the ambience and service at all was a highlight. Friendly people and local beers made us feel welcome. Excellent food at Ship Inn in Portloe. Overall a memorable experience. Thank you Andrea and West Country walking holidays.
and on our waterproof maps...
Maps were terrific and a great momento and necessary.

Terry & Wendy Barnett, Australia; SWCP Penzance - Portloe

My holiday was well-organised and very good value. The booking process was hassle-free and the notes and maps provided were easy to follow. I will happily recommend you to friends and book with you again.

Wendy Wong, UK; Short break

My walking holiday through Cornwall was absolutely amazing. I had the time of my life. Andrea organised everything perfectly making the whole thing very easy. Her advice was spot on. Everything was arranged efficiently and expertly and all went like clockwork. Thankyou so much - I couldn't have asked for more. Vanessa

Vanessa Jones, Australia; SWCP St.Ives - Porthleven

Everything was arranged very well. All the B & B hosts were very kind and helpful. Some welcome you in a very familiar way, others keep a little distance, but each one is kind and helpful. High degree of service.

Lissi Kromann Jensen, Denmark; SWCP Westward Ho! - Padstow

We thought your organisation of our trip was excellent Andrea - you thought of everything and all went like clockwork - our bags always arrived on time in the next place - and you found some excellent places to stay. We will certainly ask you do the next bit of our SWCP trip.
and on our waterproof maps...
We loved the maps - very useful to have just one easy reference sheet. Great idea - especially in the rain!

Ruth & Michael Jacobs, UK; SWCP Boscastle - Land's End

The holiday was everything I had hoped for. All the arrangements went extremely smoothly from my initial inquiry to the end of the holiday. I would happily recommend you to other walkers.
and on our waterproof maps...
I found them extremely useful and usable. It was very handy not to have to wrestle with a full size OS map in a high wind on a clifftop.

Ursula Fuller, UK; SWCP St.Ives - Falmouth

We had a lovely time and recommend the hotel for its super food, friendly and helpful staff. The area is beautiful and the walks allowed us to get right away and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Friendly and efficient service - many thanks.

Gill Latham & Naomi Barrs, UK; Short break

As Jen and I have had a few weeks now to digest the trip, we have both said that this was one of our most memorable and enjoyable holidays ever. The scenery, history of the area and friendlyness of just about everyone we bumped into was great and we really appreciate the stress free nature of using your services. Having breakfast, lunch, our bags moved, a room at the end of the night and a ride all set, really made this a fun and relaxing trip.

Mick Parent & Jen Maytum, USA; SWCP Minehead - Croyde Bay

Great varied walks taking in wonderful landscapes.

James & John Cox, UK; Short break

Westcountry Walking Holiday's organisation and delivery of the holiday was excellent and everything went smoothly to plan - except the weather!

Graham Norman, UK; SWCP Coverack - Kingsand

Had a great holiday - many thanks for your efforts.

Brenda Darroux; Two Moors Way

We were delighted overall with the service and standard of accommodation - the maps were an excellent idea to save all that folding/carriage of unnecessary weight, and having the accomodation marked let us know exactly where we were going!

Jim & Wendy Seaton, UK; Two Moors Way

Andrea was fabulous and patient! The trip was seamless......all accomodations were arranged and good, transfers of luggage and transportation back to our car went perfectly. We were very pleased! Well executed plans. We are grateful!

Fraser & Judy Tudiver, USA; SWCP St Ives - Porthcurno

Thanks for organising our holiday. Info provided was excellent and we enjoyed the walk.

Laurie & Jennifer Humphries, UK; Tarka Trail

(Ian's comments on our new waterproof maps - which unfortunately were put to the test on Ian's holiday!)
Excellent! Due to the wet weather, these were invaluable as my own maps couldn't stand up to the rain! Many thanks for those, I'd have been lost without them. Everything went like clockwork including the taxi from Ivybridge to Ugborough, made to feel very welcome everywhere. As stated above the maps in particular were very welcome and the joining instructions were spot on. I have already recommended Westcountry Walking Holidays to friend and family alike. Thanks again, it was great.

Ian Frampton, UK; Two Moors - Ugborough - Colebrooke

Kirsten and I really appreciate all the arrangements you made for us--the choice of villages, the itinerary for the Coastal Path, the descriptions of the routes, the maps and instructions, the accommodations, the inn keepers, etc. Everything was close to perfect for us. As for the path, I'm convinced you chose the best section for us for the time we had available. The walks each day offered their own challenges and variety of scenery--breathtaking scenery. In summary, it would be difficult for us to be more satisfied with the arrangements and services of Westcountry Walking Holidays. Thank you so much!

Gary & Kirsten Davis, USA; SWCP Sennen Cove - Porthleven

Thanks for your excellent service. I appreciated the detailed maps and the documentation for this holiday. I'll recommend you to my Swiss friends. Of course they all think that England is completly flat and so there is neither fun nor challenge in walking around this country. Especially as hiking in our country means walking up a mountain for a few hours and then down again (how boring). But I can try. Because of heavy rain and strong winds I wasn't able to walk every section I had planned. So I'll be back anyway. Thanks for the impeccable organisation! .

Lucia Bruderer, Switzerland; SWCP Hartland Quay - Padstow
