Exmoor,
from its
northern most point, where it meets the sea on the Bristol Channel,
Exmoor has spectacular rocky sandstone headlands and towering cliffs.
Further south, where the ground rock is slate, steep wooded ravines,
formed by fast running streams and plunging waterfalls, dissect
the heather covered moor, ideal home for its Red Deer and the unique
breed of Exmoor wild pony. Iron age workings are also evident.
