Our Accommodation

We carefully select our accommodation to ensure its quality, as we know how important it is to have a welcoming and comfortable place to stay at the end of a day's walking. We always try to book en-suite accommodation, but in some of the more remote locations this may not always be possible. If you need en-suite accommodation at each location, please let us know at the time of booking and we will arrange this, and transport where necessary when the accommodation is some distance from the route.

We pride ourselves in our flexibility and if you have particular places where you want to stay, we will do our best to secure them for you. We believe in working with you to design an itinerary and choose accommodation that suits your tastes, whether that be a simple bed and breakfast, a character country inn or a five star hotel. Our accommodation choices on the Devon Coast to Coast include cottage bed and breakfast properties, farmhouse bed and breakfast and country inns and hotels.

Walkers Welcome

Where possible, we select accommodation providers who are members of the "Walkers Welcome" scheme as they offer extra facilities for walkers, such as space for drying clothes and cleaning boots, weather news etc. However, we always ensure that your hosts welcome walkers, whether they are members of the formal scheme or not, as we appreciate the benefit of a warm welcome after a long day.

We choose our accommodation as close to the route as possible, and also close to local amenities for dinner in the evening. There may be odd occassions where it is not possible to secure accommodation within 2 kilometres of your chosen route. In that case, we will arrange transport from the route to your accommodation and back again after breakfast the following morning. We always secure your accommodation as soon as possible after you book to ensure that you get the accommodation you expect.

Breakfast and Dinner

English Breakfast

We include breakfast in all our accommodation packages, which is generally a traditional English breakfast. We are able to cater for vegetarian and special dietary requirements, but ask that you let us know at the time of booking to ensure that we are able to cater for your specific needs

We do not include dinner as part of our standard package, but we can do so if you would prefer. In the more remote locations where there are no pubs or restaurants near your accommodation, we will either select a B and B that also provides dinner, or provide transport to the nearest village where you can get dinner.

Lunches

Packed Lunch

There is usually a range of options available for lunch, with many villages having a range of cafes, tea shops, pubs and restaurants providing a range of food from sandwiches to a three course lunch. Many of our accommodation providers also offer packed lunches and this can be included in your package if required. We will be happy to advise on the options available and arrange packed lunches in the event that there is a lack of choice for lunch during your walking day.

Walking with your dog

Pets Welcome

We appreciate that many walkers may wish to walk with their dog. Many of our accommodation providers subscribe to the "Pets Welcome" scheme and will be plaesed to look after both you and your dog. If you would like to arrange a walking tour with your dog, please get in touch and we will be pleased to discuss possible itineraries.
